Day 30 Reflection

Day 30
What have you learned in the past 30 days since doing this challenge?

I've learned that some days, it is hard to find the positive aspects within myself but the more that I focused on the things that make me who i am even if they are hard to recognize at first, are also the things that I love about myself. Everyone has a unique perspective on life that only they know. We have individual characteristics that define who we are. Discovering those for myself-about myself has been just what I needed. I believe the more that I came to know myself, the easier it was to be genuine and show other people who I am and not put on an act of who I think they would like the best. In the end, as long as we are doing the right thing while being ourselves, we will always come out on top. I discovered that I am very special, I'm loved, and I am amazing. My self confidence has increased since I started this challenge. I'm very grateful that I decided to do it.

If you have read and followed along my 30 day Challenge, then I now want to say: YOU are special too, YOU are worth it and YOU can start to love yourself too. This is a powerful challenge. I encourage you to take it and see what happens. It might not be a significant change in your life but it will be fun. All the love from me to you.

XOXOXO, Kim

Day 21 childhood memory

Day 21
Tell us about a fun childhood memory

One fun childhood memory is when I went up to Little Lemhi boys scout camp with my dad and my sister Katie. We went up because my dad was working on a lockjob up there and we took up our white utility trailer with us. My dad was working out of it.  Somehow we hooked up a TV and Katie and I were watching Swiss Family Robison. I was in the trailer when Dad yelled at Katie to hurry and close the trailer door because there was a skunk that wandered right up to us and he didn't want us to get sprayed. I remember thinking that my dad was certain to get sprayed by the skunk but he had made it in the van and the skunk just passed us by. It was crazy though because we were basically in the dark when the trailer door was shut.

Day 19 A scripture will meaning to me

Day 19
One scipture/bible verse that means a lot to you right now.

Mosiah 7:33
"But if ye will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, he will, according to his will and pleasure, deliver you out of bandage."

This scripture reminds me that as long as I keep Christ as the focal point of my life, then my life will be easier to go through. Even though I will go through trials and hard times, they won't seem to last as long. I can pour out my heart to Heavenly Father and he will help me.

Day 12- My amazing father

Day 12
Someone who motivates or inspires you.

One of the first people I think about when I hear the word inspirational is definitely my Dad. He encompasses the definition of a hard worker and someone who unselfishly serves. That's what inspires me about him, among other things.  He does so much for everyone around him that is so remarkable. He motivates me to serve others with all my heart. With everything he does, he puts in all of his effort. As long as you put in your all, your doning a great job. My dad amplifies that. It amazes me how much he does for the ones he cares about especially his family. I love his goofiness when he tries to make us laugh and have a good time.  His humor can light up a room. His love and dedication is incredible. I love him so much.

Day 9-
One skill or hobby you want to take up or rediscover.

I was talking about this today at work with one of my coworkers. I miss flint-knapping and want to make time to do it again. I love flint-knapping and putting my artistic passion into something unique. There's something about seeing a plain rock become an art piece that you made. I miss that. It just makes me want to get me Knapp ingredients stuff out and get creative.

And just for the fun of it I will add some pictures of a few of the points I've made.

Day 8- Something that makes me feel Beautiful

Day 8
Something that makes you feel beautiful

There are a lot of  different aspects of the word 'beautiful'. I think there are two separate identifiers to consider. The outward physical appearance of beauty that society often focuses on. But I like the other aspect of Beauty- the part on the inside of someone, that makes them different and special, the way you can see their positive attributes. When people compliment me on those things- that's what makes me feel beautiful.

Remember, you are beautiful too! XOXOXO, Kim

Day 6 10 things that make me happy

Day 6
List 10 things that make you happy.

1. Spending time with my sister Andrea. We are like best friends and we call ourselves twins because we are so much alike. We have so much fun together and I just cherish those times when I can spend time with her.

2. Tapioca. My maltese puppy who always brightens my day. She can be sassy sometimes but I know that she loves me unconditionally.

3. Art. Either drawing or watercolor. It's a great way for me to get my mind on other things if I am stressed out and I just like it.

4. Taking walks. Another method of stress relief for me.

5. Anything to do with nature. I feel like I'm the calmest and more me when I am in the mountains or just taking in Earth's Beauty.

6. Photography. I love to take pictures, especially of flowers, bees, butterflys, etc. I love looking through a camera and capturing a moment in time that you can look back on and remember or see someone else's point of view through the pictures they take.

7. Quiet nights with friends or family. Just having a nice laid back night where you can talk for hours or watch a good movie together can feel so nice.

8. Camping. I grew up camping and it has a special place in my heart. It goes back to #5.

9. Helping others. It makes me happy knowing that I can make someone else's night go better when I help them, it makes me feel like I can make a difference.

10. Knowing that I have so many people around me that care about me and love me. It makes all the difference and the bad days don't seem to last as long.

This list was in no particular order. They were just listed in the way that I thought about them.

I love you all, you mean so much to me and I want you to know that you are special and are loved. Even if people don't often tell you. XOXOXO, Kim

Day 5 New picture

Day 5
A recent picture of yourself and tell us your thoughts. How much have you changed?

This picture was taken in May to celebrate me graduating and getting my GED. It was a really fun day.
As far as how I have changed; I think I have in a number of ways. I've learned how to do my makeup better and am fairly confident in the art of makeup. I also have grown into myself and know who I am better than three years ago. Although, in the same breath I think that I have been questioning myself more now. Trying to find where I fit in; in life in general. But I'm ready for new experiences and to become more aware of myself and find the answers to the questions that I've been asking myself.

See you tomorrow. XOXOXO, Kim

Day 4 Old Picture of myself

Day 4
An old picture of yourself and tell your thoughts on it.
This picture was taken three years ago. My how a lot has changed. I was just starting to experiment with makeup so it wasn't that great back then. Most of my thoughts go to my out word looks, as society has trained our minds to thinking my opinion. Sometimes it's harder to remember or see anything else. But, I do remember the memories that were made the day this picture was taken. It was the first time that I had my picture professionally taken by a photographer and it was a great experience.

Day 3- Things I don't like about myself

Day 3
A list of things you don't like about yourself. Max 2

1. I get disappointed in myself easily and then feel terrible about making small mistakes.

2. Thinking that I am not good enough

XOXOXO, Kim

Day 2- Things I like about Myself

Day 2
A list of things you like about yourself, at least 5 things

I'm not going to lie, when you are not in a great mood and you are focusing on your negative traits a lot of your time, it makes it really difficult to think of a list of things you DO like about yourself.

Well, here it goes...

1. I am a kind and caring person.

2. I give it my all. When someone asks for help or I'm doing a Task, I give it my very best and then try to give it even more if I can. 110%

3. I'm a good listener.

4. I enjoy doing makeup and making others feel special when I do their makeup.

5. I have pretty green eyes.

6. I love my laugh

7. I try and make other people feel special.

Well, thats all -Short, sweet and to the point.
XOXOXO, Kim

I'm back...with a challenge for myself

So, it has been a long time since I have posted on my blog. 3 years goes by fast it seems. Truefully, I don't feel as though my life is that exciting to follow. I'm a pretty boring person with a not so exciting life.
I have been feeling a bit down lately. I was looking on pinterest, just to pass some time, and came across a '30 day love yourself challenge' and pinned it. Like a lot of pins that i have on pinterest with good precepts on using it later on in my life but it esencially sits on virtual board collecting dust waiting to be looked at at an unknown time in the future-hopefully. I thought that today, on my nearly forgotten blog, would be a good opportunity to give myself a challenge and goal to encourage myself to look at a positive side of life and look at myself in a way that I have been struggling to keep in the forefront of my thoughts. I realize this might not be exciting to some (if not most) people who might read this but, if it helps me then it will be worth it so, here it goes.... August will be my "Love Yourself" month of 2016. Let's begin.

Day ONE
Introduce yourself and explain why you are doing the challenge.

I think I've done a pretty good job of this already but I will just reiterate it here;
Hi, my name is Kim. I am a shy girl from a small town in Idaho. I come from a big family being the youngest of seven kids. I have wonderful parents. I am doing this challenge to give myself a confidence boost. I'm also doing this as a fun way to journal so that I can look back on this in the future and have my thoughts recorded. I figured that doing it on my blog would be easier to do so that I can insert pictures if I want to.

There you have it, day one done. I'll try to catch up the couple days that I've missed in August so far . I hope that if anyone else is reading this, that you remember that you are special and loved by someone.

XOXO, Kim
